Running Scared is a devised 90-minute performance and workshop that explores the impact of bullying on the individual, family and wider community. Four actors play a wide range of roles in a fast moving storyline which interweaves primary and secondary school settings, life at home and the outside world. Poetry and imagery are used to highlight how it feels to be bullied, whilst slow motion sequences challenge the audience to question the choices made by the bullies – and by those who witness their behaviour. Running Scared explores direct and indirect bullying behaviour and engages young people in practical and creative activities to identify safe strategies for coping with bullying.
